Adding AUs into a CAU is explained below.
Be Aware
Before adding an AU into the cluster take care of the following 3 items.
- a-Connect to any AU within the existing CAU and backup system parameters with
SystemPrm/Download
.
- b-Connect to any AU within the existing CAU and backup CAU member parameters with
CAU/Download
.
- c-Adjust Dip Switches of the new AU (which is to be added into the cluster)properly. For instance, if the existing CAU has 3 AUs, set the member number of the AU to 4.
Step by Step
- 1- Set the member number of the new AU, make sure the protection switch to be always set. Below picture shows that the ID of an existing CAU is 8D5E198D and there are 3 AUs within this CAU. Connect to any of three AUs in this CAU and backup CAU member parameters. Then set the member number of the new AU to 4 with adjusting its dip switch.
- 2- Disconnect network connection from the new AU. Connect the ethernet port of this new AU directly to a PC. Start the new AU with factory defaults. On the FAE, check its IP address from the LCD? or use XTools to find its IP address. Make sure that the member number is set correctly on the Dip Switch. Be sure subscribers of this new AU getting dial tone.
- 3- If all is OK with the item-2 above, switch off the AU and start it in Service Mode. Run
XTools/Discover
. When it is discovered by the XTools double click on it to connect.
- 4- Click on
Remove Firmware
to remove any old version Xymphony.
- 5- Select
Firmware Upload
and upload Xymphony firmware which is the same as that of other existing AUs in the CAU.
- 6- As explained in item-4, select again
Remove Firmware
and delete Xymphony firmware which is not consistent with the CAU. As explained in item-5, Select Firmware Upload
and upload Xymphony fimrware which is the same as that of other existing AUs in the CAU.
- 7- Select
File system Cleanup
and Click on OK.
- 8- Select
Boot default Firmware
and restart the AU.
- 9- After restart, run
XTools/Discover
. When the AU is discovered by the XTools double click on it to connect.
- 11- Select
Sistem/Time
and set time of the AU correctly.
- 12- Select
Ethernet/Basic
to set the IP address of the AU (be aware that if the new AU is a replacement of an existing AU, set the IP address as the same as that of the replaced one). After the IP address is set, never save system parameters and never connect the AU to LAN where CAU exist.
- 13- Select
Cau/Upload
to upload CAU definitions file back to the cluster (i.e. CauDef15.bin file which has been downloaded just at the beginning).
- 14- Select
Cau/Download
to download CAU definitions. Select Cau/CauStatus
and then Protocol Restart
.
- 15- For all remaining AUs in the cluster, upload CAU definitions (which has been downloaded in item-14 above). Restart the protocol as mentioned above.
- 16- After CAU definitions uploaded to all AUs, check if Cau ID to be the same in all AUs.
- 17- Now, you may connect AUs to the network where CAU exists.
- 18- Select
Cau/CauStatus
and check if all AUs (including the new one) are online.
