PX24XrXCAUInstallation

Telesis Cluster of Autonomous Units (CAU) supports locally distribution and also geographically distribution

CAU consists of autonomous units called (AU)

An AU could be PX24 xrX, PX24 mLrX, PX24 erX, PX24 prX, PX24 mrX or PX24 nrX

Each AU board has 8 dipswitches on them, please look CAU Dipswitch settings

The rightmost switch (8) is for protection, this protection switch should be selected ON if the system is a CAU (has more than one AU)

if it is selected ON media ports, Web server http port, Xtools cmdr/monitor port and CAU signalling port, and the factory default ip port will be determined by the remaining 7 dipswitch positions.

  • PREPARATION OF CAU

1-File sharing in a CAU is performed by AFSP protocol, this means the newest dated parameter file in any AU(not the editing time but the saved time) is used by all CAU

So it is important to check all AU system times before starting preparation and we suggest to utilize a selected single AU during parameter changes (also please note that the last parameter saved AU date and time will be used by all other AU as system date and time)

2- In the CAU architecture, after parameter changes are made in the interfaces connected to the AUs, when the parameter is stored or waited for a while, the changes are distributed to other AUs, Before making parameter changes on the interfaces connected to other AUs, wait for the S sign to appear on the modified AU. When the S sign is displayed, you can make parameter changes in other AUs.

  • EASY CAU (if all AU's are in the same LAN)

You may follow these below steps to prepare an easy CAU installation

1-Set protection dipswitch (8) ON FOR all AU
2-Set remaining dipswitches (we recommend to start with setting 10.0.0.1 for the first AU,10.0.0.2 for second AU ,and leaving some empty ip adresses considering future installations)
3-Power on all AU in the system at factory defaults
4-Connect all AU and your XTOOLS running PC to the system switch ports with provided ethernet cables
5-By using SCAN property of XTOOLS please check that all AU are dedected by XTOOLS and there is no other Xymphony running device on network
(Note:Xymphony discover uses multicast messages to find other AU's, so multicast messages must be activated on in the switch to which AU's are connected.
6-Use EASYCAU property of XTOOLS to finish CAU buildup

After Xtools/EasyCau is done, you can connect to any AU via web interface and log in to the programming and administration home page. Since AUs start with factory settings, you must first define a user name and password for the web interface. See Define Admin Username and Password

Now when you connect an AU in the CAU ,and select edit CAU then you will observe a table similar to below table (you may edit comment ,xid and ip adress areas when necessary

The 8D5E198D seen in above picture is the CAU id of this cluster The 1 seen after the slash of the CAU id is showing us which member of the CAU is browsed and the 2/2 shows that there are 2 more members in this cluster and these 2 is connected to each other

If there is any AU that will be geographically distributed (not in LAN) Then you should change the ip address of this unit with its future WAN ip address and save the changes

Also for these out of LAN units the port forwarding for media ports, Web server http ports, Xtools cmdr/monitor ports and CAU signalling ports should be forwarded to AU units ip address via DSL router

  • CAU SETUP WITHOUT USING EASY CAU (If AUs are not in the same LAN)

If CAU architecture is to be installed without using Easy CAU, the following steps should be followed.

1- In all AU units in the system, 8 numbered switch (On/Off switch) must be turned On (protected).

2-Set the member number of each AU using the On/Off switch, adjust the member numbers of the AUs starting from 1 and increasing in order.

3-Each AU uses a specific port range, for this reason, port forwarding should be done for AUs from the router. You can see the port ranges used by AUs on the AU port settings link.

4-Connect to each AU from XTools or from the web interface.

5-In the Exchange id column of the Cau / Edit Cau member definitions table, enter the id key and ip address of the other AU units. We recommend that you connect to other AUs and copy the id key and paste it into the table in order not to make any mistakes while entering the Exchange id key.

6-After the process is finished, save the page to the memory by pressing the Down button at the bottom of the page.

7-Download the CAU member definition table (CauDef15.bin) by clicking Cau / Download from the main page.

8-Load Cau member definition table (CauDef15.bin) with Cau / Upload by connecting to other AU unit in CAU architecture.

9-After the installation process is finished, enter the Cau member definitions table with Cau / Edit and enter the ip address of the AU unit you downloaded the table from.

10-Follow the steps in items 5 and 6 on all AU units.

11-Forward each AU unit's media ports, Web server http port, Call recording Xtools cmdr/monitor port and CAU signaling port from DSL modem to AU unit's ip address.

After the CAU member definitions are made, you can connect to an AU unit in the system via the web interface and enter parameters into the system. After the parameter is entered, the change made within 1-2 minutes is sent to other AUs. When the parameter is saved after the change, the parameters are immediately saved in the non-volatile memory of all AUs.
