7 series telephone sets hava easy-to-use access menu keys and numerous dedicated keys for various telephony tasks and personnel settings. They have a large color touchscreen.

There are 9 navigation keys for menu functions. OK is to operate or confirm a selection within the menu. Left, right, up and down arrows are used to display menu selections and navigate within the menu. ESC is to leave the menu or cancel a selection. DEL is to delete the data edited (such as numbers) whenever it is necessary. +/- are to increase and decrease volume and ringer volume.

Spkr starts/ends the handsfree function. Mute starts/ends the mute function. During the mute state, the telephone stops transmitting voice towards the other party in conversation.

Rec is to record a personal conversation bi-directionally (i.e., both calling and called voices including conference are recorded). In conversation state, starts recording. When the key is pressed again, recording stops. During the same conversation record function can be used several times for multiple and partial recordings.

Rdial is used for re-dialing, Disc is used for disconnecting the call and to reject an incoming call, Conf is used for creating a conference. If soft key Bdp is pressed once or more than once, Busy Display Panel state changes from none to ten entry and up to thirty entry. Flash is to hold the call before transfer or consultation. Pressing the key again retrieves the held call. Transfer is to transfer a held call to another destination.

Directory key is to reach system directory, a soft qwerty keypad will follow to search over directory entries. Headset is used for switching speaker function between headset and in built speakerphone.

Callback is to activate call back function is destination call is unreachable or busy. Intrude is to intrude destination calls' conversation and start a new conversation with destination number.
