XToolsMonitorFunction

With the Realtime Protocol Analysis feature in Telesis systems, it is possible to monitor any TDM interface by decoding signaling or protocol existing on it. XTools is the GUI for this feature integrated Realtime Protocol Analyzer.

Before monitoring with Monitor function, be sure that your Telesis Xymphony system has been enabled for the purpose.

Connect to your Telesis system with a web broswer.

The Cmdr link in Ethernet paragraph opens Cmdr settings page.

If protection dipswitch is not ON;

By factory default, the Monitor port is 30004. If desired, the default value can be modified to another. Edit the XTools/Monitor(UDP)Cmdr(TCP)port textbox for the desired port number and then click on OK button. Be aware that when OK button is clicked in Cmdr settings page, modified parameters are stored into volatile memories but they are not activated. In order to activate the new parameters, these should to stored into nonvolatile memories and then the system should be restarted again.

Note that it is also necessary to set Cmdr protocol to XTools and XTools Cmdr client IP address to the IP address of the PC, which runs XTools.

If protection dipswitch is ON;

It is fixed port, can not be modified to another.

After Telesis Xymphony system has been programmed appropriately, edit <Xymphony URL>:<port number>, <password>-<access coed> into the edit box to the left.

Then click on Open button.

While the XTools establishes the communication, YELLOW indicator is displayed on bottom left corner.

If the communication fails for any reason, the indicator on the bottom left corner returns RED. Then check IP connection of your PC, parameters in Xymphony etc.

If the communication is successfully established, the indicator on the bottom left corner becomes GREEN. XTools is ready to monitor relevant access code.

At anytime, connection to a Telesis Xymphony system may be terminated with using the Close button.

The Scroll button enables or disables the scroll of monitoring results in the current window.

Click on Mail button to email monitor results to a recipient as a text file attachment.

It is possible to monitor two TDM interfaces (which may be in the same or different Telesis systems) at the same time, with running Monitor function twice.
