XymphonyProgramming-SIPVideoPhoneUsageIn order for the sip phones that supports video calls to be made among themselves to be successful, media proxy feature of exchange should not be active in these calls. 1.If both phones participating in the call are inside of the LAN: The Ethernet/Media/Media Proxy Type must be selected a value except Always. 2.If both phones participating in the call are outside of the LAN: The Ethernet/Media/Media Proxy Type must not be selected Outside or Always 3.If one of the phones participating in the call is inside of the LAN and the other one is outside of the LAN: The Ethernet/Media/Media Proxy Type must not be selected Inside-Outside,Outside or Always. If the exchange works behind a Gateway applying NAT (Network address translation), voice call may fail unilaterally or completely. In this case, the phone is in the same LAN with the exchange should be register to the exchange by using the external IP address. In this way configuration becomes “both are outside of the LAN” type which is explained in the second paragraph. In spite of the application of these methods if the video call fails, VTS480 video phone should be preferred. When VTS480 phones work behind NAT. for analysis of external IP address they receive support from Xymphony. |
